Abundia P. Castor

age 99, of Munster, IN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her residence on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Abundia is the loving mother of Dr. Conrado P. Castor (Ester), Sonny (Cynthia), Eduardo (Teresita), Leandro (late Carlota and Adoracion), Marc (Teresita), Johnny, Christina, Catherine (Stephen) Gunty, Aurea (Dan) Duncan and Jacob; caring grandmother of Aileen (Patrick) Helton, Yvette (Matthew) Mybeck, Noreen Jean, Judge (Christie), John Paul (Tina Marie), Jeannie (Richard) Cunanan, Carolyn, Allen, Trisha, Charlotte, James, Sarah (Tom) Barbour, Joseph, Miles, Sydney and Carl Jacob (Amanda);  great grandmother of Chinnie, Lucy, Bruce, Jack, Luke, Ruby, Drew, Ella, Richelle, Jude, Denise, Dean Jacob and Evelyn; cousin, Atty. Dulcisimo (Imelda) Franco, Eliza Gallardo Martirez; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Jacobo Evangelista Castor; son, Roberto; parents, Bernardino Pelayo and Emiliana Limjoco; aunt-mother, Rosario (Teodulo) Franco; sisters, Feliza Lacanilao and Anastasia Pelayo; cousins, Josefina (Dodoy) Mationg, Jose (still living, Marieta) Franco and Adoratriz (still living, Rene) Lopez.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 2:00-8:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave., (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville, IN 46375. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday March 14, 2018 directly at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 500 Northgate Dr., Dyer, IN with Fr. Charles Niblick officiating. Abundia will lie in state at the church from 9:30 AM until time of service, and laid to rest after service at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville, IN.

Abundia dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She has a degree in music and was an accomplished pianist. She was a self-made proprietor and business woman.
