Agustin "Auggie" Igartua Jr.

Hammond, Indiana

Age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday December 7, 2018.  Auggie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Graciela; children, Enrique (Elizabeth "Lisa" Z.) Igartua, Nancy (Daniel) Montalvo, Augustin Igartua III, Richard (Hattie) Igartua and Amalia Igartua; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers; 4 sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) in Schererville, IN. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home with Pastor Orlando Soler officiating. Auggie will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond, IN.

Auggie was a 1963 graduate of Washington High School "Senators".  He sold real estate for 40 years and opened "Paradise Realty" for 25 years. He also worked at Inland Steel for 31 years. He was involved in Irving Little league, where he coached his boys. He organized Pasquale Rodriguez Softball League.  Auggie was an avid Cubs fan. His passion was sports (football, basketball and boxing).
