Albert “Al” A. Villarreal

Age 64, of Highland, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Al is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Gloria C. Villarreal; his loving sons, Albert V. Villarreal and Anthony A. Villarreal; and many cherished family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Sally ( nee Martinez) Villarreal.

A proud graduate of Morton High School, Class of 1979, Al was known known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He owned and operated his own businesses and devoted many years of service to Atlas Construction and World Class Body Shop, where he worked for more than two decades. Al believed in staying busy and productive, a philosophy he carried throughout his life.

Al had a deep love for adventure and the outdoors. He enjoyed downhill skiing in Colorado with his parents, swimming, horseback riding, and keeping active. Above all, he loved helping others and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Solan – Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave, Schererville, Indiana. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home, with Deacon Albert Burgos officiating. Burial will follow at St. John / St. Joseph Cemetery.
