Alice Marie Lorenz nee Schreiber

age 99, of Hammond passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018. Alice is survived by her son Stuart (Bonnie) Lorenz; grandchildren: Tim (Simi) Lorenz, Christopher Lorenz, Robert Lorenz, Patrick (Maureen) Riley, Melissa Riley and Susan (Scott) Arnoult; great grandchildren: Winona, Bridget, Natalie and Wyatt Arnoult. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Basil, daughters Toni (Alan) Dominick and Carol (Howard) Riley.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 3:00 – 9:00 pm at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home 7109 Calumet Ave Hammond, IN. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Brian Kamstra officiating. Alice will be laid to rest at Concordia Cemetery Hammond, IN.

Alice was born on February 5, 1918 and departed this world 8 days shy her 100 ^th birthday. She loved flowers, her God, her dear family and of course her Cubbies. Alice lived with a heart full of kindness, empathy and love for those around her. As a woman of great faith, she proudly took on the role of Chaplain from her husband at Springhill Nursing Home in Mountain Home, Arkansas after Basil's passing in 1989. She was an avid painter, entering many of her watercolor masterpieces in art shows where they consistently won her 3 ^rd place trophies. Alice will be dearly missed, fondly remembered and forever in our hearts.
