Alice G. Rokosz (nee Kazmierski)

Age 96, of Dyer, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. She was born in Hammond, Indiana, on February 23, 1929, to the late Alex and Helen Kazmierski.

Alice was united in marriage to her beloved husband, John Rokosz, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years. She was a loving mother to John (Kathie) Rokosz, Nancy (Doug) Ferree, and Cheryl (Mike) Walsh; cherished grandmother of Angela (Robert) Vogel and Caleb Ferree; and proud great-grandmother of Charlie Alice and Kaylie Vogel. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Florence Cyganiwicz; brother, Chester Kazmierski; nephews, Gene Swanson and James Swanson.

A compassionate and caring person, Alice devoted her life to helping others through her work as a nurse. She was deeply encouraging and supportive of her family cheering loudly at sports and concerts. A devoted fan, she never missed watching a Notre Dame or Green Bay Packers game. Always cheerful, she had a special way of bringing joy to those around her, often reminding others of her favorite phrases, "I'm a strong Polish Woman" and "Taking Care of Business" (Bachman Turner Overdrive).

Her life was anchored in her strong faith, love of God, and trust in the power of prayer. Alice was active on her church prayer team and attended St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Dyer, later faithfully watching mass on TV.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, directly at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 500 Northgate Dr., Dyer, IN 46311. Friends may visit family from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, with Mass at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the William J. Riley Memorial Residence, 511 Otis Bowen Dr., Munster, IN 46321.

Alice will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
