Ambrose Obuch
Age 83, of Munster, Indiana passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Monica (nee Fortener); daughters, Diane (Ken) Michaelis, Maureen (Dan) Powers, Sharon (Mike) Rzepczynski, Valerie (Doug) Beaver, Catherine (Eric) Darmon; son, Michael (Dana) Obuch; grandchildren, Casey, Chad, and Janell Arneson, Amanda and Amy Rzepczynski; Daniel and Jessica Beaver, Tyler and Jake Darmon, Melanie and Nicholas Obuch; brother, Donald (Cynthia) Obuch; sisters, Geraldine (late Steve) Riebe, Luelle (Richard) Kutcka; sister in law, Helen Obuch; brother in law, Jim (Sue) Fortener; sister in law, Peggy Loudermilk; several nieces and nephews. Ambrose was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mary (nee Komar) Obuch; brother, Walter E. Obuch.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on December 29, 2016 Directly at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 8103 Columbia Ave., Munster, IN with Fr. Steven Koplinka and Fr. Bruce Riebe officiating. Ambrose will lie in state at the church from 9:30 AM until time of service, and will be laid to rest after service at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday December 28, 2016 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN 46375 (corner of Main and Kennedy). from 3 till 7 P.M. with a 7 P.M. Parastas.
Ambrose was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, and an Army Veteran. He retired from LTV Steel after 42 years of service. He cherished yearly family canoeing and camping trips to Minnesota boundary waters. He also enjoyed working on home improvement projects.
