Obituary

Amelia Sophia (Quarles)Jeune, known to so many of us as Mimi. On August 29, 2024, at the age of 48, Mimi transitioned from this life after a courageous battle with a long-term illness. She left us while on a journey home, passing in Chicago while traveling to Indiana. Though we mourn her loss,  we also remember the vibrant, loving, and inspiring woman she was.
Amelia is preceded in death by Stepfather, Nathaniel Wyche, Mother and father in law Julie and Victor Jeune, Brother in law Guerino Juene, paternal grandparents Sherman and Amanda Quarles, maternal grandparents Joseph and Mary Milakovic, Aunt and Uncle Eddie and Willie Pearl Miles, Uncle Sherman Quarles, Aunt Betty Jean Bandy, and Great nephew Adonis Rimpson. She was preceded in death by many dear loved ones, and we find comfort knowing she is now reunited with them.
Mimi was born on September 9, 1975, in Michigan City, Indiana, to her devoted mother, Mary Jo Quarles-Wyche. Growing up in Hammond, Indiana, alongside her siblings Amanda and Adam, Mimi was always a beacon of strength and determination. She attended Woodrow Wilson Elementary School, she graduated from Donald E. Gavit High School, and later Vincennes University, where she began to carve out the path that would define her life.

Mimi's journey led her to meet the love of her life, Michaud Jeune, and together they built a beautiful family, welcoming their daughter, Gabrielle, on August 15, 2001. Their family flourished in Brooklyn, New York, before their professional endeavors brought them to Washington State, where they settled in Kent and later Bellevue.

Mimi was a woman of immense talent, drive, and passion. Her work in the music industry, with companies like Ruff Ryders and G Unit, showcased her undeniable charisma and expertise. She was also a beloved radio show host on Shade 45 with her show *Big Sundays with Miss Mimi*. Whether it was through her role in the entertainment world, her work with Alaskan Airlines, or her many other ventures, Mimi touched countless lives with her wisdom, her laughter, and her relentless belief in following one's dreams.

She was bold. She was hilarious. She was caring. Mimi wore many hats—mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend—and in each role, she was exceptional. She didn't just live for herself; she was a visionary who wanted everyone around her to thrive. Her belief in fostering creativity and pushing others to reach their fullest potential was a defining aspect of her character.

Even through the challenges life presented, Mimi lived fully. She loved to travel, explore, and embrace new opportunities. She saw life as an adventure and encouraged others to take that leap, to dream big, and to never settle for less. Her legacy of determination, love, and creativity lives on in every person she touched.

Mimi is survived by her devoted husband, Michaud, her beloved daughter, Gabrielle, her siblings Amanda (Nakia) and Adam, her Mother Mary Jo Quarles-Wyche,  Nieces, Rian Jones and Nadia Quarles, Nephews, Eric Johnson (Destiny) and Alexander Quarles, Great-nieces, Aubry Johnson and Autumn Johnson, Great Nephew Bryce Johnson. Loving Aunts Michele Hamm(D)Larry ), Martha Brunson(Charles), Melanie(Jim) Smith, Ovella(D) Sherman)Quarles  and a host of cousins, and friends who will cherish her memory forever.
As we say our goodbyes, let us not dwell on the sorrow of losing Mimi, but rather celebrate the remarkable life she lived. A life that was full of love, laughter, and purpose. Mimi leaves behind a legacy that will forever inspire us to chase our dreams, love fiercely, and never give up.

Services to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Munster, Indiana, where we will come together to honor her memory.

Mimi, we love you, we miss you, and we will carry you in our hearts always. Rest in peace.
