Anabel Tucker (nee Ruiz)

Anabel Tucker, age 53, of Indianapolis, formerly of East Chicago, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. She is survived by her husband, Melvin Tucker; children, Cameron (Arielle) Ruiz, Roxanne (Anson) Tucker, Maxine (Isaiah) Tucker, Isaiah (Angelica)Tucker, Melvin (Nhya) Ruiz, Takeo Tucker; 14 loving grandchildren; dear mother, Maria Hernandez; siblings, Patricia Lopez, Raquel (Raymond) Velez, Vincent (LaTanya) Ruiz, Martha (late, Gerald) Jackson, Maria Ruiz and Norma Ruiz; many nieces, nephews, family and dear friends. Preceded by her father, Jose Ruiz II; and brother, Jose Ruiz III.

Anabel was a teacher's aide at Carrie Gosh Elementary School. She enjoyed cooking, listening to music and watching movies. Anabel loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, especially during the Holidays.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Avenue, Schererville, IN. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 24, DIRECTLY AT Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 7132 Arizona Ave, Hammond, IN 46323 with Rev. Charles A. Mosley officiating. Anabel will lie-in-state from 9:30 AM until time of service. Burial will follow at St. John/St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond, IN.
