Age 59, of Hessville, IN, passed away tragically and suddenly at his home on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Andrew is survived by his beloved wife, Linda (nee Soto); loving siblings, Jane Howard of (Australia) and Sharon Brown (late James); Paul Micenko. Andrew was a dedicated uncle to many nieces and nephews. His remembered slogan was: "Never fear, uncle Andy is here." He is proceeded in death by his parents, Andrew J. Micenko and Anne Micenko (nee Kotso); sister, Susan Hamilton.
Andy was a 1982 graduate of Morton High School. He earned his culinary degree in 2002 at the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago. He went on to earn his Bachelors Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Purdue University Northwest in 2003 and earned several accolades in this profession.
Andy had a passion for cooking from a very young age. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening and loved animals. Andy particularly rejoiced in helping his friends and family alike. No job was too big or small. No matter what time of the day, he would always lend a helping hand. He especially was appreciated in given cooking advice to the masses. The unbreakable bond with his sisters was shown at every opportunity. Andy took pride is his painting business.
His positive imprint on this Earth will remain with us forever.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 4PM – 8PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 7109 Calumet Ave., Hammond, IN. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10AM on August 2, 2024 DIRECTLY AT Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 7132 Arizona Ave, Hammond, IN 46323 with Rev. Charles A. Mosley officiating.
