BARBARA A. POI

age 78, of Munster, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2016. Barbara is survived by her children Joseph (Lori) Poi and Deborah (Richard Szutenbach) Poi; grandchildren Tyler (fiancé Jansu Onen) Poi and Brittany (fiancé Matthew Beck) Poi; brother in law Bert (Louann) Poi; sisters in law: Bertha Poi, Kathryn (John) Stevens and Mary Ann Poi; many dear friends. Preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Joseph Poi and brother Dennis (Carol) Ziemba.

Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family. Among her favorite activities Barbara enjoyed cross-stitch and was a member of the NANI Stitching Club. She enjoyed shopping and absolutely loved to cook for and feed her family. Barbara was a member of St. James Parish for 30 years. She cared deeply for her church and her fellow parishioners.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 1:00-5:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave Schererville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 10:00 AM DIRECTLY at St. James the Less Catholic Church 9640 Kennedy Ave Highland with Fr. Keith Virus officiating. Barbara will be laid to rest with her husband on Wednesday at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
