Benjamin "Ben" Dale Dunifer

Age 63, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 30, 2023. He is survived by his loving partner of 35 years, Donna Ratkovich; cherished son James (fiancé, Michelle Vega); sisters, Shirley (late, Wally) White, Debbie (William) Clegg, and Robin (Steve) Gwizdalski; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur "Dale" and Marjorie Faye Dunifer; brother, James Dunifer; and precious pet, Jack.

Ben had a joy for the open road as he shared his passion for motorcycles with friends traveling and creating countless memories along the way. His love for nature extended to birdwatching, capturing the world through photography, and nurturing his garden. He was also a talented handyman and his ability to fix anything made him a reliable friend to all. Additionally, he was an important part of the First Christian Church in Lansing, IL, having served as a trustee and member of the leadership council.

Ben displayed remarkable strength as a cancer survivor, demonstrating unwavering courage and resilience. He embraced life with gratitude and cherished every moment spent with his family. His pride for his son (and future daughter-in-law) knew no bounds, and his love for them was a guiding light throughout his life.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Avenue, Schererville, IN. A Service Celebrating Ben's Life will be held at 7:30 PM with Pastor William Lyons officiating. Services conclude at the funeral home.
