Brian A. Abrams
Age 53, of Hobart, IN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday, May 3, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Holly Abrams (nee Nicoloff); mother, Patricia (Chuck) Hazlett; sister, Amy Abrams-Franklin; stepmother, Joan Abrams; niece and nephews: Benjamin, Emma, and Nathan Franklin and Chris (Amanda) Luft; great-niece and great-nephew, Delilah and Dexter Luft; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. Preceded by his father, Allen Abrams.
Brian worked for E&R towing for 27 years. He served honorably as a member of the Reserve Police Department in Lake Station and previously served with the New Chicago and Gary Reserve Police.. He was not only committed to his professional duties but also deeply involved in supporting his fellow officers. He was a proud member of the Brotherhood for the Fallen, a testament to his camaraderie and loyalty within the law enforcement community.
Brian enjoyed a good cigar and frequenting the Golden Leaf in Hobart. He was blessed with an incredible group of friends who were a source of joy and strength throughout his life. His love for travel took him to the serene beauty of the Smoky Mountains every year and he equally cherished the trips to the ocean as well as visiting family in North Carolina.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 20234 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Avenue, Schererville, IN. A Service Celebrating Brian's Life will be held at 6:00 PM with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating. Services conclude at the funeral home. Attendees are invited to dress in comfortable, casual attire.
