Carmen Eva Burgos Age 80, of Hammond, Indiana, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

Carmen was a devoted and loving mother who dedicated her life to caring for others. She is survived by her loving children, Herminia Aponte, Mercedes Soto, Marisol Aponte and Jessica Aponte; her precious grandchildren; and her cherished great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.

Carmen had a special love for children and spent many years caring for and nurturing them with kindness and patience. She found happiness in music and dancing, and her joyful spirit and warm heart touched everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Margarita Soto; brother, Amador Perez and beloved parents.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 7:00 PM. Services conclude at the funeral home.

Carmen Eva Burgos will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
