Carol Denise Kelly age 63, of East Chicago, IN, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022. Carol is survived by her loving daughters, LaVelencia Washington and Asheena Kelly; step-daughter, Charell Meriel; step-son Jarell Meriel; sisters, Francine Kelly, Frankie (Booker)Thomas, and Teresa Kelly; brother, Albert (Kelly) Thomas; grandchildren: Linnae Nolen, Jayden Blackman, Kayla Kelly, LaVell Washington, and several other grandbabies; niece, Ashley (Randall) Crawford; nephews, Shakeel "Diamond" Ross; and nephews, Tyrell "Dude" Ross and Darnale Shamble. Preceded in death by her sister, Susie Golden and brother, Virgil Kelly.

Carol was, above all else, a wonderful mother and grandmother. Not only did she raise her own children, she raised many others as well. She was strong, hardworking, protective, and funny. She was very social and loved to party and have a good time. Carol was loved by her community and will be missed dearly.
