Carolyn S. Simon (nee Wymer)

age 85, of Crown Point, IN, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 2, 2026.

Carolyn is survived by her loving daughters, Joanna (Greg) Steapleton and Susan (Chris) Lincoln; her two precious grandchildren, Chad Steapleton and Kailey Steapleton; and many extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Richard Simon; loving sister, Shirley Clark; and her parents, Carl Wymer and Doris Wymer (nee Goodman).

A proud 1958 graduate of Griffith High School, Carolyn enjoyed a long and dedicated career with the BP refinery in Whiting, Indiana, where she retired after many years of service.

Carolyn found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a special love for flowers and looked forward to her annual trip to Walt Disney World. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family, loved playing Uno, and could often be found working on crossword puzzles. Above all, Carolyn cherished the time she spent laughing and making memories with her children and grandchildren, who brought immeasurable happiness to her life.

In accordance with Carolyn’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held at a later date.
