CARROLL G. ANDERSON JR.

age 81, of Schererville, formerly of Hessville, passed away Friday January 9, 2015. Carroll is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Sharon; children: Gordon (Judy) Anderson, Linda Davenport and Jean (Tom) Donovan; grandchildren: Brandon (Sasha) Knoche, Amy (Shawn) Harvey, Ryan Bocken, Dillon Bocken, Shelby Anderson, Danielle (Brian) Smith and Brian Bland; great grandchildren: Bryanna, Morgan, Jason and Jonathon Knoche, Owen and Greyson Harvey, Daniel Cianci, Airyal and Maci Smith; brother Henry Anderson; brothers in law Richard Nelleman and Mike (Candy) Iatarola; special family: Anna Huber, Heather (William) Harrison, Paige and Hailey, Matt (Brandy) Johnson, Preston, Hunter, Ethan and Deegan; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Carroll Sr. and Minnie, son Dan Anderson and mother in law Rose Iatarola.

Carroll proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Era and was a retired Engineer employed by Conrail for 39 years. He was a member of the Garfield Masonic Lodge 569, the Scottish Rite, Orak Shrine and the Order of the Eastern Star Griffith Chapter 583. Carroll was a former drag racer, an avid fisherman and loved to attend his children and grandchildren's sporting events. Carroll was loved by all and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville with Pastor Geraldine Colvin officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 3:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in Carroll's honor may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
