Catherine Johansen (nee Heimstra)

age 94, passed away January 17, 2014 in Lake Havasu, Arizona, longtime resident of Schererville, IN and Chicago Heights, IL. Catherine was born in Chicago, IL on February 16, 1919 and was one of four siblings: Bill Heimstra, Wayne Heimstra and Ruth (Heimstra) Jucius. Preceded in death by her husband Tony Johansen, daughter Lois (late Richard) Osberg and son Marvin Johansen. Catherine retired from A & P Grocery Store and spent most of her summers in Cedar Lake, IN at Latulip Harbor, camping and boating with her family.

Catherine is survived by Daughters Beverly (Jerry) Caris and Joyce (late Mike) Rossi; Grandchildren: Kim Osberg, Jamie (Alan) Lawrence, Steven (Kelly) Osberg, Donna Corbin, Keith (Karen) Johansen, Debi (Eric) Hoekema, Sue (Phil) Benton, John Rossi, Mike (Hollie) Rossi, Dawn (Tim) Strzechowski, Joy (Doug) Heredos and Kathy (Jamie) Eberling; 17 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren; daughter in law Peggy Johansen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday January 24, 2014 at 12:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville with Pastor Jason Devries officiating. At rest Oakland Memory Lanes Dolton, IL. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
