Catherine "Kay" M. Dobrinich

age 86, of Highland, IN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Catherine is survived by her sister, Rose Marie Dobrinich; nephew, Lawrence "Larry" (Mary Ann) Scrbacic; and nieces, Julia Scrbacic and Rachel Scrbacic. She is preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Mary Dobrinich; brother, Matthew "Sonny"; and sister, Anne (Frank) Scrbacic.

A proud graduate of East Chicago Washington High School, Class of 1955, Catherine went on to dedicate 29 years of service to Inland Steel before retiring.

Catherine had a creative spirit. She enjoyed crocheting and took pride in her handmade creations. She was also a longtime Avon representative, bringing beauty and cheer to those around her. An avid bowler and golfer, Katherine found joy on the lanes and the greens.

Catherine will also be fondly remembered for the love she shared with her pet cat, Oreo, who was her constant companion. Bringing her great comfort and joy.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 2, 2025, directly at Carmelite Fathers Church, 1628 Ridge Rd, Munster, IN 46321. Friends may visit at the church from 10:30 AM until time of Mass. Burial to follow at St. John St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond, IN.
