Charles R. Guzman

age 94, of Chicago, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Loving husband of late Mary Guzman. Charles is survived by his children: Iris (John) Perez, Roy Guzman, Aurora (Eddie Solorio) Guzman; Late daughter Linda Carter and Late son Charles Guzman Jr. many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister Caroline Vasquez; The late Henry (Sara), John (Juanita), Raul, Eva, Ralph (Lola), Frank (Lupe) Guzman and Carmen (Eugene) Rodarte;  Many nieces, nephews and cousins; canine companion Buttons.

Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Philippines. He was employed with Sherwin Williams and retired after 25 years of service. Charles was an independent man. Sharp and intelligent, his wit was unmatched and equaled only by his good nature and wonderful sense of humor. A music lover, Charles was also a fantastic singer and skilled guitar player. He was also an avid reader and would read any printed word he could get his hands on. Most of all Charles cherished the time he was given with his dear and loving family.

Friends may gather to honor Charles and celebrate his life on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 12:00 – 6:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave Schererville, IN. Prayers will be shared at 4:00PM with Dc. Raymond Helfen officiating. Cremation at Solan Pruzin to follow services. On Monday, November 13, 2017 Charles will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL.
