Christine Michelle Wells-Ilic

Christine Wells-Ilic, age 42, of Hammond, passed away suddenly and was called home on Friday, February 26, 2021. She is survived by her husband of 7 years, Jerry; daughter Lennon Mendoza; mother Kathleen Wells; sister Jill (Tony) Crayne; nephew Austin Crayne; father-in-law Bronko; brothers-in law Greg (Jessica) Ilic and Randy (Samantha) Ilic; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceded in death by her father Dennis Wells and mother-in-law Gwen Ilic.

Christine loved sports and played volleyball and softball at Morton High School where she graduated in 1997. She later went on to major in Education at Indiana University Northwest. Christine worked with the disabled at AccessAbilities in Merrillville and she was also a substitute teacher for the Lowell and Hammond School Systems. Christine was a "Chicagoland Fan", she loved the Blackhawks, Cubs, and White Sox. She also loved to read, listen to music, and write poetry. Christine was also committed to her daughter Lennon, and loved her more than anything.
