Victor S. Brotko "Coach Vic"

age 74, of Highland, formerly of Lake Station,  IN, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Cathy (nee Bogovich); son, Dennis (Corrine) Noyce; step children, Michelle (Joe Oakley) Malec, AnnMarie "Annie" Malec, and Beth (Matthew) Carney; grandchildren, Mattie, Shane, and Bridget; sister, Julienne (late Paul David Close, late Michael Walsh) Close-Walsh; numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Ann who he call "My special Angel" and his parents, Stanley Jr. and Gertrude Brotko.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave. (Corner of Main and Kennedy), Schererville, IN with Rev. Dennis Blaney officiating. Coach Vic will be laid to rest directly after service at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.  Friends my visit with the family on Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Coach Vic retired after 37 years of service from US Steel.  He coached Lake Station baseball and football teams, and volunteered and coached Munster Chalengers for several years.  He always enjoyed participating in his nieces and nephews sporting events. He was an avid White Sox Fan and enjoyed Golf. Especially in Myrtle Beach.  In lieu of flowers donations to Share Foundation, sharefoundation.org , would be appreciated.
