Corinne "Corky" Beavers (nee Kurzeja)

Age 88, of Schererville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025. She was born on March 10, 1937, in Hammond, Indiana, to the late Frank and Julia (Lewicki) Kurzeja.

Corinne was a proud 1955 graduate of Hammond Tech, where she formed lasting friendships and set the foundation for her lifelong love of learning and the community.

She was married to her beloved husband, Larry Beavers, for 59 wonderful years. She is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara (Ronald) Rossi and Judy Beavers; cherished grandchildren, David (Kaitlyn) Rossi and Nic Rossi; adored great grandchildren, Wes, Reid and Ada Rossi; and her sisters, Cathy (Al) Ritchie and Cindy Jalovecky. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Beavers; her parents; and her brothers, Robert (still living, Jackie) Kurzeja and Frank (still living, Laura) Kurzeja.

Corinne was an avid golfer, joining her golf club in1981 and proudly winning multiple Women's Club Championships over the years. She was an active member of Tradewinds for many years. Deeply dedicated to helping others, she volunteered at Lake Central School, where she provided support to children with special needs.

Above all else, Corinne loved her family. She cherished every moment spent with them and especially treasured being "GiGi," a role she embraced with her whole heart.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Solan – Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Avenue, Schererville, Indiana. Friends may visit from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will take place at 6:30 PM. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
