Daniel “Danny” R. Potter
Age 61, of Hammond, Indiana, was called by the Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
Known affectionately as Danny, he is survived by his loving children, Michelle (Matthew) Sheridan, Elizabeth Trevino, and Jessica (Jeramiah) Lain; precious grandchildren, Brandon, Andrew, Christian, Kylie, Savannah, Niko, Lucas, Benjamin, Alina, Madelyn, Jeramiah Jr, and Danibelle “Dani”, who proudly carries her grandfather’s name in his honor. He is also survived by his siblings, Suzie (Bob) Roquet, Karen (Steve) Moss, Stanley “Skip” (Gerri) Potter; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley D. and Elizabeth G. (nee Frattalone) Potter.
A graduate of Morton High School, Daniel proudly served his country as a sergeant in the United States Air Force. Daniel was a proud veteran who carried his service with honor throughout his life. He took great pride in his veteran-wrapped truck, which proudly featured his father, a tribute that reflected his deep love for family and country. He was a retired Teamster and dedicated employee of YRC Trucking.
Daniel was a devoted grandfather, and his grandchildren meant the world to him. He was also a passionate Chicago Cubs fan and took great pride in his extensive collection of Cubs memorabilia.
A Celebration of Life for Daniel will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Solan – Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave, Schererville, Indiana. Visitation will take place that day from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for the education of his grandchildren.
Daniel will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
