David L. Baugh "Cowboy Dave"

Age 77, of Dyer, IN, passed away on Friday, January 17th, 2025. He is survived by his loving children: Brett (Jill) Baugh, Jeremy (Brianne) Baugh, Jenna (Charlie Smith) Baugh, Seth (Sherry) Baugh, Blake (Christina) Baugh. Grandchildren:  Kadyn, Addison, Aidan, Chase, Katie, Dylan, Ryder, Hayden, and soon to be Baby Baugh; Tony and Taylor; sister, Melinda Baugh; and dearest love, Cheryl. Preceded in death by his mother, Mary Yurkus; father, Paul Baugh; step-father, Joseph Yurkus; brother, Stephen Baugh; and nephew, Pete.

David was a graduate of Gavit High School and employed with Land O Frost, Taylor Chain, and worked on railcars for Amtrak. His longest tenure was as a wholesale dealer, selling cars with C and D Enterprises making his way to Dyer Auto Auction every Friday.

Dave was an avid horseman, finding community with fellow horsemen, making an annual mecca to Brown County to ride the trails. He rode his horses at the Lake County Fair and Lake County Parade. Playing poker, cleaning and detailing cars, attending his children's and grandchildren's events, and telling jokes were all things he loved.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN. Services conclude at the funeral home.
