David Romero

age 90, of Hammond, IN, formerly of Lansing, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 4, 2022. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Sandra Romero (nee Zeinert); children, Christine (Jon) Mossman, Annette (Neal) Nayman, Doreen (Kim) Mosley, Bonnie (Anthony) Feledy, Dave (Veronica) Romero, Steve Romero; Warren (Patty) Lube, Michael Lube, Chris Lube, Darren (Tina) Lube, Cindy (James) Wright and Kari Lube; 35 dear grandchildren, 46 precious great grandchildren; brother, Angel (late, Leona) Oliba: in-laws and other dear family. Preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Romero; siblings, Victor, Michael and Mary; and grandchildren, Tony Romero, Laura Lube and Ashley Hawthorne.

David was a United States Army Veteran that served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Legion Post 697 in Lansing, IL. After 36 years of service with Republic/LTV Steel he went on to work 22 years at PSC. He served his community as a Lansing Police Officer, enjoyed Boxing, avid Bears Fan and always put up a good fight playing Triomino's.  David was a loving husband, father and grandfather that will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 6:30 PM with Hospice Chaplain Hector Trevino officiating along with Honorable Military Services provided by United States Army and Legion Post 697. Services conclude at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Veterans Honor Flight would be appreciated.
