Debra L. Horvat

age 57, of South Bend, formerly of Hammond passed away Friday September 15, 2017 she is survived by her loving brother John Horvat, 4 nieces: Cherie Uran, Jodie(Tim)Kubiak, Polly Granack, Kathy(John)Quinn, 4 nephews: Todd Uran, David(Katie)Uran, Bobby(Laura)Granack, Joey(Sara)Granack, numerous great nieces , great nephews, cousins, aunts, sister-in-law: Joan(late Bob)Granack, brother-in-law: Gerald(late Joan)Uran, long time High School friends. Preceded in death by her parents John & Josephine Horvat.

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday September 21, 2017 10:00 AM at St. John Bosco Church  7113 Columbia Ave. Hammond, IN with Fr. Richard Orlinski officiating, at rest Elmwood Cemetery. Debra will lie in state at the Church  from 9:30 AM until time of Mass. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday Sept. 20, 2017 from 3:00 to 8:00 Pm at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home 14 Kennedy Ave. Schererville, IN (corner Main & Kennedy). Wake service 4:30 PM.

Debra loved nature and found joy in watching the birds gather in her backyard at her birdfeeders. She was an avid Cubs and Notre Dame fan. Deb absolutely adored her House of Pizza and always treated herself when in town. Debra loved her nurses and staff at University of Chicago.
