Dennis "Dan" Allan Norris

age 64, of Hammond, was born into eternity on Wednesday, June 13, 2018.  Dan is survived by his loving and devoted husband of 20 years Joseph Tombleson; father-in-law Eldridge (Betty) Tombleson, sister-in-law Anita Tombleson, brothers-in-law Thomas (Carole) Tombleson and Sherwin (Dawn) Tombleson. Dan was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Lucille Norris; mother-in-law Ethel; Dan is survived by siblings: Leonard Norris, Carole Mitchell, Sharon (Frank) VanFleet and Jacqueline Poor; many beloved nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews; dear friends: Jamie (Chuck) Conn, friend 64 years Dan Koci and friend of 50+ years Julie Leonhardt.

Dan was a true caregiver by birth and trade. When Dan loved, he did so with his whole heart and every fiber of his soul. If you were blessed to be loved or cared for by him, you knew so without a shadow of doubt. Dan had the honor to serve as a 'guardian angel' to countless families in his community with boundless compassion for over 30 years.  Many families were so moved by Dan's tenderness that he was often welcomed into the fold as one of their own. An avid collector of Americana, Dan had an extensive model train collection. Dan also had a passion for music; He bought his first Wurlitzer Jukebox at 16 and loved Big Band and Disco music especially. Joe would often say that his husband would "Dance himself dizzy". Dan's "pride and joy" (aka a thorn in Joe's side) was his Forrest Green 1972 Buick Riviera Boat-tail. Our beloved Dan left us while sleeping peacefully Wednesday morning and although our family is heartbroken we are proud of our Guardian Angel for earning his wings so young.

Friends & family may gather to honor Dan and celebrate his life on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home 7109 Calumet Ave Hammond, IN. Prayers, thoughts, memories and tall tales will be shared at 6:30 pm.
