Devin Burns

age 35, of Hammond, IN passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Malinda J. Burns; daughter, Ashley J. Burns; mother, Angela Burns; father, Issiac Lacey; brothers, Damien D. Burns and Demetrius D. Burns; grandmother, Louise Davis; mother-in-law, Barbara Jacobson; father-in-law, Edwin Jacobson, Sr.; brothers-in-law, Jamie Jacobson and Edwin Jacobson, Jr.; uncles, David Burns, Ricky Burns, Terry Burns, and Walter Burns, Jr.; aunties, Diane Boyd and Lisa Williams; and a host of in-laws, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by his grandfather, Walter Burns, Sr.

Devin attended Thornwood High School before graduating from South Suburban College with an Associate's Degree and a major in Criminal Justice. He worked as a correctional officer at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City, Indiana. Devin enjoyed going to the gun range and weight training.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Avenue, Schererville, IN. A service celebrating Devin's life will be held at 7:00 PM with Fr. Stanley Dominick officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
