Dominic Stabolito

age 48, of Dyer, IN, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. Dominic is survived by his loving wife, Kellie; mother Roseanna Stabolito; step-daughter Hannah McDonald; brother Alfonso Stabolito; one niece and one nephew; aunt Gloria Mata; uncle Phillip (Vera) Stabolito; and numerous cousins. Preceded in death by his father Roberto Stabolito; grandparents: Vicente and Gloria Stabolito and Emiliano and Katherine Rodriguez; uncle Raul Rodriguez; aunt Elida Abeyta; aunt Alice Mendoza; uncle Tomas (Monica) Rodriguez; aunt Christine (Mike) Velazquez; aunt Anna (still living, Damon) Hiens; and aunt Mary (still living, Carlos) Melendez.

Dominic was an avid fisher, duck and waterfowl hunter, golfer, poker player, and traveler. He was a member of Migrators Unlimited Hunt Club. Dominic was also a member of the Hammond Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #51. He was hired by the Hammond Police Department as a Dispatcher. He was a dispatcher from 1996 until his date of hire, as a Police Officer, on December 23, 1999. He graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy on March 24, 2000, and was promoted to 2 ^nd Class Patrolman in 2000, 1 ^st Class Patrolman in 2001, Corporal in 2007, and Sergeant in 2014. Dominic was assigned to the Hammond Police Patrol Division, and became an Evidence Technician in 2012.  In 2015, he was chosen to be a part of the Hammond Police Crime Lab, where he was an intricate part of the team.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 29, at 12:00 PM.  Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until times of service. Services conclude at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dominic's wife Kellie, to help assist with medical bills.
