Dorene C. Boutwell (nee Doodeman)

Age 83, of Highland, IN, formerly of Lansing, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, June 16, 2023. Dorene is survived by her daughters, Kari Boutwell-Moffett and Dawn Boutwell-Largent; precious grandchildren: Jacob (Julie) Wolff, Karlie Wolff, Jennifer Moffett, and Mark Moore II; and great-grandchildren, Ella Rae and Scarlett Josephine Moffett. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, George P. Boutwell; and brothers, Jack (Marlene, still living) and Ron (Carol, still living) Doodeman.

Dorene graduated from CVS High School and was a member of the Ladies' Oriental Shrine. She appreciated learning about genealogy and helped her family as well as her friends research their family trees. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was affectionately known as "Mimi" to them.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN.
