Dorothea "Dottie" J. Connor (nee Walsko)
age 86, of Schererville, formerly of Munster, IN passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016. She was the loving mother of Joyce (Artie) Klisser of Munster, Dr. Janet (Dr. Mike VandenBrook) Walsh of Madison, WI, and Gregg (Sandra) Gilboe of Huntington Beach, CA; stepchildren, Robert (Barbara) Connor of Paris, TN, Susan (Dr. Paul) Brass of Acme, WA, Jan (Steven Robbins) Kline of Fishers, IN, Kim Connor of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Timothy, Elisabeth, and Shanna C. Klisser, Remy Jazz Gilboe; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brother, William (Noni) Walsko; sister, Marilou Tonkovich; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends that she considered family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Connor and son, Thomas Gilboe Jr.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 DIRECTLY at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 500 Northgate Dr., Dyer, IN with the Rev. Charles Niblick and Msgr. Joseph Semancik co-officiating. Dottie will lie in state at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service and will be laid to rest after service at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville, IN. Friends may visit with the family at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave, Schererville, IN (corner of Main and Kennedy) on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 2 till 8 p.m.
Dottie was a proud graduate of George Rodgers Clark High School, in Whiting, IN class of 1946. She retired from Allstate Insurance after 22 years of service, and she was a member of Beta Epsilon sorority. Dottie was a spiritual counselor to many. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Donations to the Humane Society of the Calumet Area in Dottie's memory, www.hscalumet.org, are welcomed.
