Dorothy C. Sutherland (nee Hancock)

age 77, of Hammond, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015. She is survived by her loving daughters, Cheryl Weaver (nee Bell) and Tammy (Robert) Bryant; 3 grandchildren, Tim Weaver, Jason Bohonsky, Tara (Bill) Hamm; 7 great grand babies and one angel on the way; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; best friends for 60+ years, Bonnie Nims and Jackie Estep. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 7109 Calumet Ave Hammond, IN 46324 with Sister Joan Romaniak officiating. Dorothy will be laid to rest directly after service at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00 till 6:00 pm.

Dorothy retired from Tap-A-Light in Hammond after many years of service. She loved her dogs, and had many over the years. Dorothy loved to write poetry, and was a published writer for her poetry. She was a wonderful Storyteller.
