Douglas C. Stewart

age 62, of Hammond, IN, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Douglas is survived by the love of his life, Irma Aguirre; children, Amanda Sessum; Patty Jo and Dylan Stewart; grandchildren, Sonaiya, Michael, Jr. and Sonny; Sysiya Harper; brother, Gary Stewart; father in law, Nacho Aguirre; brother in law, Oscar (Jayne) Aguirre; sister in laws, Mary (Ray)Ortega, Bertha (Alfredo) Guzman and Cynthia (Dave) Avila; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Memie Stewart; mother in law; Frances Aguirre; and son, Michael Sessum.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 7109 Calumet Ave., Hammond, IN. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday at 12:30 PM. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond, Indiana.

Douglas was a retired subcontractor for BP and Kenny Manta. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, NASCAR and was a gun and car enthusiast. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
