EDWIN N. LEVANDER

age 83, of Schererville, passed away Saturday August 23, 2014. Edwin is survived by his wife of 40 years Edna Mae "Jeri"; son Doug Levander, of Schererville; daughter Danielle (Mark) Popovich, of Valparaiso; grandchildren: Alexander J. Popovich, Nickolas A. Popovich, Christina M. (Max) Husarik, Regina M. Levander and Laura M. Levander; great granddaughter Paxton Popovich; sister Carole (Gerrard) Germain.

Ed proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He received his Master's Degree in Education from Northern Illinois University and retired from Thornton Fractional Vocational Center in 1996 after 20 Years of teaching welding. He was a 4th Degree member of the Griffith Knights of Columbus Marquette Council 3631. Ed was a tinkerer; he loved to fix and rebuild things. He will be dearly missed by his loving family.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday August 29, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin funeral home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Fr. Benjamin Ross officiating. Edwin will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery St. Louis, MO at a later date.
