Elaine (nee Gaza) Balio

Elaine Balio, age 64, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away surrounded by loving family on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

Elaine is survived by her dear love and companion of many years, Dwayne Godbolt; loving son, John (Tammy) Balio, Joseph (Anita) Balio; precious grandchildren, Dylan, Lucas, Paige, Alexander, Sebastian, and Alina; sister, Georgeanne (Randy) Lammertin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Balio; parents, John Gaza and Lorraine (nee Szary) Gaza; in-laws, John and Elsie Balio.

Elaine was a proud graduate of Morton High School in Hammond, Class of 1979, and furthered her education at Purdue University Calumet. She worked for Van Til’s in Hammond and for the City of Hammond Sanitary District. Elaine had a love for life’s simple joys. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren, adored her faithful dog Max, and especially enjoyed attending live concerts.

Elaine will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
