Elaine M. Berrones (nee Luna)

Age 82, of Highland, formerly of East Chicago, IN, was called home by the Lord on Friday, March 29, 2024.  She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Daniel Berrones; daughters Barbara Berrones, Joy Crandall, Irene (Eric) Berrones-Kolb, Laura (Jason Sommer) Berrones; sons Michael Berrones, Ben (Nikki Lark) Luna; precious grandchildren Benjamin Crandall, James Kolb, Elena Kolb, and Cassie Luna; sisters Irene (Sidney) Rivera and Cynthia Bokori; and many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and many special friends. Preceded in death by her father Frederico Luna and her parents Clementina & Edward Perez.

Elaine was a 1960 graduate of East Chicago Washington High School and was an active member of the Good Friends from Indiana Harbor. Her dedication to community service and her Catholic faith shone brightly as a proud member of the Guadalupanas. She found her greatest joy and fulfillment in life while spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends. Elaine's unwavering love, kindness, and support will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her.

A Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Avenue, Schererville, IN. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 8, DIRECTLY at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 9640 Kennedy Ave, Highland, IN. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10:00 AM until time of Mass. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.
