Elena Ortiz de Zamora

age 95, of Griffith, fell asleep in the Lord's embrace on Sunday, November 19, 2017. Elena is survived by her children: Alfredo (Elidia) Zamora, Arturo (Luz Maria) Zamora, Margarita (Ramon) Rocha, Jesus (Eva) Zamora, Roberto (Diane) Zamora; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Luz Maria Zamora; siblings Guadalupe and Maria; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Elena was preceded in death by her husband Alfredo Zamora, her son Antonio and brother Herminio.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave Schererville, IN. Wake service 3:00 pm Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10:00 AM directly at St. Mary Catholic Church 525 N Broad St Griffith, IN. Elena will lie in repose at the church from 9:30 AM until time of mass and will be laid to rest in Mexico at a later date.

Elena was strong, hard working woman of faith who cherished her family with a heart full of love and kindness. She was a wonderful cook and loved to feed and nurture her family. She will be missed by all and her memory will be carried in our hearts for all our days.
