Elizabeth L. Doescher (nee Altenberger), age 101, of Munster (Formally of Hammond and East Chicago) passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024.  Born March 26th, 1923, to Charles and Emily Altenberger in Hammond, Indiana.  She was the beloved wife of 39 years to the late Alan K. Doescher who passed away July 16th, 1988, loving mother of Alan C. (Karen) Doescher; grandmother of Aubrey (Carlo) Demma; Chase Doescher; and Brice (Lexi) Doescher; and great grandmother to Everly Doescher.

Elizabeth was a Graduate of Hammond High School, class of 1941.  She subsequently attended business college then was employed by the Union Carbide Corporation, the Linde Company and American Maize - Products Company.

Elizabeth, fondly known as "Betty Lou," leaves behind many close friends and family members that were amazed at her strength, sharp wit, and grace.  Elizabeth was a devoted reader who enjoyed working crossword puzzles for hours at a time.  Elizabeth enjoyed traveling and took many trips all over the world.  Elizabeth was a parishioner at St. Nicholas Church, Munster, IN.

At Elizabeth's request, there will be no funeral.  A celebration of life will take place at a later date.  In memory of Elizabeth, please consider donations to Humane Indiana. Solan Pruzin Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
