Obituary

ELIZABETH SIDOR

age 89, of Crown Point, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2015. Elizabeth is survived by her children: Linda (Dennis) Gorney, of Dyer, IN; Mark (Linda) Sidor, of Crown Point, IN; Don (Karen) Sidor, of Valparaiso, IN; daughter in law Pat (late Larry) Sidor, of Dyer, IN; grandchildren: Nathan Gorney of Dyer, IN; Brandon (Elizabeth) Gorney of Knightstown, IN; Justin (Brandi) Sidor of Chicago, IL; Kristen (Joey Piegat) Sidor of Valparaiso, IN; Amy (Jonathan) Sigler of Wheatfield, IN and Melissa (Luke) Voegerl of Huntingburg, IN; great grandchildren: Isabella, Kateri, John Paul, Gabriel, Cecilia, Luciana, Winston, Vesna, Troy, Gavyn, Logan and two great grandbabies on the way; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Walter, son Larry, parents Joseph and Albina, sisters: Stella Mital, Emily Michalak, Lillian LaSota, Julie Obremski, Marie Romanak and Josephine Wierzbinski.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015 with a 10:30 mass at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church 808 W. 150th St. East Chicago, IN with Msgr. Joseph Semancik officiating. Elizabeth will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service. At rest Holy Cross Cemetery Calumet City, IL. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave Schererville, IN.

Elizabeth was born and raised in East Chicago, IN. She graduated from Roosevelt High School. She was a lifetime member of St. Stanislaus Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Elizabeth adored spending time with her family, including friends and staff at Crown Point Christian Village and cherished visits with her grandchildren; especially her great grandbabies. She enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Dancing with the Stars. Elizabeth will be remembered as a religious, tender, caring and cheerful woman to all her family and friends. She always had a smile on her face. Heartfelt thanks to her caregivers, the staff at Crown Point Christian Village, for their loving and devoted care. Donations in Elizabeth's honor may be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area or St. Stanislaus Church.
