Eric C. Norton

age 47, of Hammond, IN, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 6, 2024. Eric is survived by his children: Austin, Hailee, and Bryce; grandchildren, Axel and Atlas; mother, Janet (late, Robert) Hellems; siblings, Brian (Tanya) Norton and Stacey (Mike) Smith; aunts, Joi (Don) Wilimzik and Joanne Kottka; special nieces and nephews: Victoria, Brian, Taylor, and Aspen; mother of his children, Amanda (Norton) Vandermeer; best friend and precious pet, "Cooper Thomas".

Eric grew up in Hammond and became a carpenter in the Local 1 Union. He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed gaming, exercising, weight lifting and body building. What Eric enjoyed most in life was sharing his sense of humor and he had a true gift in bringing laughter to those around him. His love for his family and friends carried him through life and his proudest and most loved possessions that are left behind are his children.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave. Schererville, IN. A Service Celebrating Eric's Life will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 16, at the funeral home. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of service. Entombment to follow at Memory Lane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
