Felipe ("Phil") Morales Jr., AKA Chinaman to all his friends and family back home in East Chicago, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Lucy and Eliseo Guzman; father Felipe Morales Sr.; siblings Mary Martinez and Johnny Morales; brother-in-law Cruz Lopez; nephews Odilon Garibaldi and Cisco Garcia; and daughter Selena Morales.

Felipe is survived by his spouse of 19 years, Lisa Morales; sisters Beatrice Covarrubio and Susanne Lopez; children: Leanora Morales, Brandon Louks, Frank Morales, and Crystal (Daniel) Rodriguez. Felipe is also survived by 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was very proud of his occupations as a tree trimmer and diesel mechanic. For the last 17 years, Felipe worked at Cobblestone Hobbies, doing what he loved, until his illness prevented him from working any longer. He was also a former member of the Sinners MC.

A visitation for Felipe will be held on Wednesday, May 24 from 5-8 PM at Lakeshore Memorial Services – 11939 James St. Holland, 49424. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 26 at 12:00 PM Central time DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church - 3510 Deodar St, East Chicago, IN 46312, with Fr. Terry Steffens officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 11:00 AM Central time until the time of mass. Burial to follow at St. John St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond, IN.
