Frank R. Mack, Jr.
formerly of Tucson, AZ and East Chicago, IN, passed away on August 16, 2016. Frank was born on December 24, 1927 in East Chicago, IN, the son of Frank and Evelyn (Szajek) Mach. He attended St. Stanislaus Parochial School and graduated from Roosevelt High School. He joined the Army Air Corps in World War II where he attained the rank of Master Sargent. He then served in the Air Force reserve, stationed in Japan. He was retired from Inland Steel and a member of Club Ki-Yoga and VFW Post 360 in East Chicago. He married Elaine Clabby in 1990 and retired to Arizona in 1991. He is survived by his son John (Cindy) of Hobart, IN; son Garry Mack of Hammond, IN; brother Eugene Mack (Gabriella) of Munster, IN; grandson Ryan (Magdalena) Mack; granddaughter Jennifer (Cody) Pack; grandson Greg (Belinda) Enochs; great-granddaughters Nova Mack and Haley Pack; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Elaine, sister Loretta Michalak and brother Dr. Peter P. Mach.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00 am at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 7109 Calumet Ave., Hammond, IN 46324 with Rev. Richard Orlinski officiating. Frank will be laid to rest at Concordia Cemetery in Hammond, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Funeral Home from 3:00 till 7:00 pm.
