Fred J. Gasparovic,
age 79, of Schererville, IN, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 He is survived by his children; Fred (Janet) of Hebron; daughter, Jeani (Garry) Sickles of Schererville; grandchildren, Fred G. (Jackie), Jonathan, Sean, Ryan (Chrissy), Heather , Adrian, Nicole (Chad), Michelle; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Doris (Richard) Starastu; several nephews, nieces, and cousins; and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, LouElla.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Directly at Decent of the Holy Spirit Orthodox Church, 545 E. 77th Ave., Schererville, IN 46375 with Rev. Lev Holowaty officiating. Fred will lie in state at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service, and will be laid to rest directly after service at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Friday at Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN 46375 (corner of Main and Kennedy) from 2 till 8 p.m. with a Panachida at 7 p.m.
Fred was very fond and active in Decent of the Holy Spirit Orthodox Church. He worked many fish fries to help raise money for the church. He loved his grandchildren dearly, and was their greatest supporter. Fred was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, that will be dearly missed.
