Genevieve Elizabeth Ray (nee Reimer),
age 95, a long-time resident of Hammond, IN, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Waters of Duneland Nursing Center in Chesterton, IN. Genevieve was born on May 12, 1919 in Maryville, MO to Thomas and Alice (nee O'Biern) Reimer, the youngest of four children. She is survived by her son Gerald, (Connie); former daughter-in-law, Noel Ray, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband James (1975) and son Richard (2012).
For many years, Genevieve, along with her husband Jim, were very active with the Cub Scouts and PTA at St. John Bosco Church in Hammond.
At Genevieve's request, she will be cremated . Graveside services will take place at a later date in the family plot at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Maryville, MO. Solan Pruzin Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of arrangements. 219-322-7766
We wish to thank the staff and residents of the Waters of Duneland facility for making our mom welcome and comfortable for the past two and one half years. Their caring and support will be treasured in our hearts. We love and miss you mom.
