Martin Dobrzynski officiating. Services will conclude at the church.

George was born in Schererville and attended St. Michael School from 1 st – 8 th grade. He graduated from Lake Central High School in 1972.

George spent the better part of 4 decades as a master craftsman and carpenter, building beautiful works of art from wood and nails, some of which still grace the homes of his family and many local businesses, churches, and hospitals. As a member of St. Michael choir, he shared his love of music with thousands of parishioners, gently strumming his guitar and bringing out the best in the singers he led. He spent countless weekends on the links of Sherwood Golf with his friend, Ted or fishing with his life long friends, Alan and Paul, in waters of Wisconsin. George loved to watch movies and old TV shows, often quoting the classics with his kids; everything from The Andy Griffith Show & MASH, to Beverly Hills Cop and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He perfected the art of cooking jambalaya, and could grill a mean beer can chicken or pork tenderloin. He was a life-long fan of the Chicago Cubs and even learned to love the White Sox after attending the World Series with his son, Pat, in 2005. Football season found him rooting for the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos. George had eyes that sparkled, and a smile that made people feel at ease within minutes of meeting him. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
