Gerald L. Moore

age 85, of Hammond, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024. Gerald is survived by his former spouse and loving mother, Patricia Moore; loving children: Deborah Moore, Michele (Norman) Roberts, Chris Moore, Stephen (Angela) Moore, and Randall Moore; sisters: Sandy (Dennis) Walker and Judy (John) Cavalier; and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, Miles and Mary Moore ; and his loving brothers and sisters: Dale, Merl, Miles, Loyd, Leonard, Don, Susy and Bernice.

Gerald was a 1957 graduate of Hammond Tech. He was a proud Army Veteran. He then worked at Inland Steel as a sawman, up until his retirement.

Gerald loved driving around to visit family, as well as going to his favorite store Meijer. He loved playing basketball on the courts in Hammond. Gerald also enjoyed fishing at his spot at Wolf Lake. Some of his hobbies include crossword puzzles and Sudoku. He leaves behind many cherished memories that will forever be held dear by his family.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave. Schererville, IN. A Service Celebrating Gerald's Life will be held at 7:00 PM. Services conclude at the funeral home.
