Gertrude “Trudy” Mannion (nee Lukowski )

December 16, 1933 – September 12, 2026

Age 92, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Majestic St. Anthony in Crown Point on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Trudy is survived by her loving children, Dr. June (Ed Hill) Mannion, Dr. Patricia (James Rowe) Mannion Rowe, Ryan (Donna) Mannion, and Dr. Laura Mannion (Len Eberle); precious grandchildren, Garrett and Graeme Rowe, and Michael and Molly Mannion, and several dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis Mannion; and dear son, Randy Mannion.

Trudy was a proud 1951 graduate of Bishop Noll Institute formerly Catholic Central. As an adventurous young woman, she worked in California for two years before returning home and meeting Louis Mannion. A vibrant and optimistic woman, Trudy embraced gratitude and faith in the face of every adversity. She carried those qualities throughout her life and inspired those around her with her strength and positive spirit.

Trudy found her true passion in her family. After marrying Louis, she devoted herself to raising five children, always emphasizing the value of higher education. Trudy was a lifelong learner, taking art classes, and enjoyed creating and displaying watercolor landscapes later in life.

Trudy will be remembered for her warm smile, unwavering faith, optimism, and, above all, her deep love for her family. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who cherished her.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 7109 Calumet Ave, Hammond, IN.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church. Prayers start at the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at St. John – St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Hammond, Indiana.
