Helen N. Galison (nee Paloney)

age 89, of Munster, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. Helen is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Garry) Rawcliffe; grandchildren: Alexandra Rawcliffe and Zachary Rawcliffe. Preceded in death by her husband, John Galison; son, John Michael Galison; and eleven siblings: Michael Paloney, Nicholas Paloney, Mary Manka, Sue Paloney, Helen Paloney, Julia Balich, Ann Brown, Emma Makarewich, Margaret Stodola, William Paloney, and Nancy Krizman.

Helen attended Hammond Vocational School where she learned how to be a keypunch operator and later went on to become a bookkeeper with Inland Steel. She was also involved immensely with St. Nicholas Byzantine Church throughout her life. She devoted herself to being the church's bookkeeper, cantor, and head of catering services. Helen was an exceptional cook and adored making meals at the church. She, as well as her phenomenal cooking, will be dearly missed.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00PM – 7:00PM on Monday, February 13, 2022 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN, with a Parastas at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 DIRECTLY at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 8103 Columbia Ave., Munster, IN with Fr. Steven Koplinka officiating. Friends may visit with family at the church from 9:30 AM until time of service. Burial to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Hammond, IN.
