HELEN R. KANE
age 90, of Griffith, formerly of Highland, passed away Wednesday May 14, 2014. Helen is survived by her children James Kane, of Griffith and Janet (Wayne) Cable, of Griffith; grandchildren: Candice Wynecoop, Cindy (David) Hoestra, Carrie (Eric) Messmer and Eric Cable; great grandchildren: Jade, Stacy, Erin, Kayla, Jacob, Kaycie, Tyler, Declan, Jack, Cole, Anna and Matthew; sisters Elaine (late Henry) Hales and Eleanor (late Charles) Tipton; sister in law Rita (late Frank) Tokarz; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her husband Michael and brother Richard Patterson.
Helen was a former President of the PTA and President of the United Methodist Women Organization. She was a Troop Leader involved with the Boy Scouts and Brownies.
Funeral services will be held on Monday May 19, 2014 at 12:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville with Pastor Steve Conger officiating. At rest Memory Lane Cemetery Schererville. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 10:00-12:00 at the funeral home.
