HILARY C. MACKOWIAK "CHRIS"
age 73, of Griffith, passed away Monday, December 29, 2014. Chris is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Claudia nee Dorton; children Douglas Mackowiak and Tammy (Casey) Mershon; brothers David (Deonne) and Kevin Mackowiak; sister in law Eunice "Candy" Dorton; brother in law Jim (Martha Kaczerski) Dorton; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Chris was a cat lover and had a soft spot in his heart for the many cats he rescued over the years. He was a longtime member of the Duneland Rock Club and enjoyed many summer nights at the Illiana Speedway. Chris always had a fondness for cooking and gardening and was an avid reader and book collector.
Services were private and entrusted to Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory Schererville 219-322-7766
